La Bronca hosted El Free-Guey Show from around 2017, but the new season introduces a different host, Pancho Mercado, alongside co-host Morris De Alba.
Originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, La Bronca began her radio career at the age of 17 and hosted the community show “Al Banquillo con Sylvia del Valle.”
Since the new season started without La Bronca, fans have been curious about her absence. The El Free-Guey Show is now hosted by Pancho Mercado and Morris De Alba.
La Bronca’s fans express their disappointment with the show without her presence, as it has been five and a half years since she last hosted. The show was launched in 2017 with hosts Sylvia del Valle (La Bronca), Jose Gutierrez El Tambochi, and Carlos Ivan Paez El Compa Ivan.
On November 7, 2022, El Freeguey Show returned to Univision Sound without La Bronca’s voice, leaving fans unsettled. La Bronca, along with former co-host El Rojo, was also replaced, bringing more heartbreaking news for their listeners.
Neither La Bronca nor El Free-Guey Show has provided any hints on why the new season features new hosts.
La Bronca has been focusing on her business, DietA911, which offers products designed to aid weight loss and promote healthier living. While she was absent from the first episode of El Free-Guey Show, she will still be active on the radio.
Despite her reduced commitments, La Bronca continues to describe herself as a goal digger and radio personality. She is currently spending quality time with herself and loved ones, exploring various places according to her Instagram posts.
The new hosts of El Freeguey, Pancho Mercado and Morris De Alba, are not new names in the radio field. Pancho Mercado, born in Jalisco, Mexico, moved to Los Angeles at 18 and has worked in various roles, from car salesman to mechanic. He has featured in advertisements for companies like Home Depot, AT&T, and T-Mobile, and received the National Hispanic Media Coalition Award from Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Morris De Alba, a Senior Producer and Live Talent at Univision Communications, attended the University of the Californias International. Both hosts are adding an exciting touch to the new season, engaging fans in the show.
